Augmented reality (AR) is a field of computer research which deals with the combination of real-world and computer-generated data (virtual reality), where computer graphics are blended into real footage in real time. Augmented reality adds information and meaning to a real object or place. The technology promises to change the way we see the world. It can be applied to classroom learning in schools and colleges where images will leap off the pages of a book and thus enable superior understanding for the students. Auto major BMW has used it for innovation in automobile service. Augmented reality assists in servicing cars using data goggles that guide mechanics through each and every step.
