Philips Research has developed a ground-breaking e-paper technology that opens up new design opportunities for personalizing electronic devices. It will, for example, enable people to change the color and appearance of an MP3 player or a mobile phone to match their clothes, mood or environment, at the touch of a button.
Larger applications including using e-paper as wallpaper, so that the color of walls can be changed, as well, or it can be used to change the amount of light coming through a “smart” window.
