Micro-Robotics: Nano Soccer
Summary
As if robots playing soccer wasn’t novel enough, NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) has come up with the concept of nano-robots or nanobots playing soccer. A competition organized by NIST at Atlanta saw teams participating from three nations and competing in three different games. The nanobots were operated by remote control and changes in electric and magnetic field were used to set them into motion. Nanobots are also capable of working under water and can be used to build microchips and perform micro surgeries.
