Military Mimicking Nature
Summary
It is said that wars in the modern world will not be fought between humans but between computers. The statement is a reference to the role played by computers and technology in modern warfare. The advent of biotechnology and nanotechnology in modern weapons has enabled armies to have increasingly complex and powerful weaponry. Scientists are turning to biology to explore ways to apply the learning to create modern weapons. Nanotechnology will not only enable better and smaller weapons but also devices that are energy efficient. An example of nanotechnology being implemented in warfare is the use of carbon nanotubes in manufacturing of weapons.
